Once upon a time there was a guy called Mr X. He lived in a 5 bedroom apartment with 4 other tenants. One day he decided to cook rice for dinner. So, Mr. x borrowed Miss A’s rice cooker in his house. Since he did not need all of the rice, he left the rice cooker on the kitchen until the next day.
On that particular day, two of the tenants, Mr and Mrs Y, who had returned home from their holidays, wanted to have their lunch. To their shock, they could not find their rice cooker. Without proper judgement, they accused Mr X of using their rice cooker. Unfortunately for Mr X, their rice cooker was the exact same model as Miss A’s one. They quickly notified Mr X to return the rice cooker. When Mr X met Mr and Mrs Y, he asked if the rice cooker was really theirs. Mrs Y inspected the rice cooker and said it is not theirs. A sight of relief, Mr X thought. However, Mr Y looked at him as if he had lied to them and accused Mr X of using their rice cooker. While returning the rice cooker to the rightful owner, Miss A, Mr and Mrs Y were still mad about their missing rice cooker. Mr Y was heard saying bad things about Mr X, while Mrs Y was trying to calm things down. ‘Tiada otak ka?!’, grunted Mr Y. Unsatisfied, they confronted Mr X again. They asked him if he had brought any rice cooker outside of the house. When Mr X said no, Mrs Y unhappily let it go and Mr Y was heard whispering ‘Go check the serial number or something!’. Mr X thought it was no use for further confrontation so he left them.
Few hours later, a surprising revelation surfaced. Mr G, another tenant of the house told the Mr and Mrs Y that their rice cooker was actually taken by Gampang. Gampang was a previous tenant who went back to his home. He took the rice cooker without informing the couple first. He would return the rice cooker few days later. Mr Y, who has a lot of brains, felt so happy that he forgot to apologise for making false accusations on Mr X. Mrs Y is happy too. She can finally eat rice again when Gampang returns. Mr X, was happy they can eat rice again and has vowed to get a rice cooker for anyone who are incapable of getting one.
Moral of the story: Please support our country. Buy local rice cooker from Malaysia.

I have seen a lot of weird stuffs in my life. some are unique and mesmerizing, while most are pure stupidity and idiocrity (e.g. Jackass or dropping melting rubber band on your elbow). Yesterday i read this an interesting article about xenoglossy.
Xenoglossy can be described as the ability to speak a foreign language that u have never learned, heard or spoken with (Wikipedia, 2008). Recent studies have shown this phenomenon has been traced a long time ago and even described in the Bible’s New Testament (refer to Book of Acts 2:1-13).
Scientists have been scratching their heads to explain this ability. Experiments conducted in the US discovered an American women being able to speak in German after being hypnotized. She had no previous knowledge about the language or visited German. A Czech racer who had difficulty in speaking English suddenly was able to speak perfect English after waking up after a freak accident. however, it did not lost last long as he suffered memory loss due to the effects of the accident.
how could this happen? is it possible for an Iban native in a remote place in Sarawak to speak perfect Korean without any exposure of the language? Is this a sign of reincarnation? does supernatural power really exists?
p/s: catch the new season of Supernatural this month on AW!

according to encarta (2008), capitalism can be defined as an economic system where small or big companies elevating their production capacity through a series of complex network of prices and market. this means that capitalism allows someone to sell their product anywhere around the world. consumers who have buying power are free to use it to fulfil their satisfaction.
as a consumer myself, i would consider myself as a part of this economic system. if you take a look into my life, u’ll see that i’m not the person who can save a lot of money. i’m excited about shoes and gadgets. i’m so addicted in looking for bargains. my satisfaction comes from having them in my room. haha.. sounds psycho, eh? on the serious side of things, i kept wondering if i was not exposed to this stuffs. what would happen if i were to live in a remote place in my homeland? perhaps i would not be so crazy about browsing through latest catalogues about new football shoes or laptops. why is it hard for me to buy shoes other than adidas or nike? i would prefer a shoe with a ‘3 stripes logo’ than another shoe which is better in quality, more beautiful and a lot cheaper. there’s a possibility of me being influenced by multi-million dollar ads and trends. well, i guess this is one of those the things you’ll gain when being exposed to new cultures and power (money). but all this actually leads to one single-concrete fact: i’m materialistic.
p/s: shoes were highlighted in this entry because i have more than 6 pairs right in my room now.

few weeks ago i was in a state of emergency n depression. like most students, there will be a time where u’ll be broke. u’ll have no money. u will reach an extreme point where u will even have to compare prices for just 10 cents. mostly everything will go against you. so what i did next was to look for a part time job (should done it months ago!) to make the story short i got job as a glassy in Smith. Bar in Britomart.
A glassy’s job is mainly about collecting glasses and cleaning them. i am also responsible to refill the cooler with drinks, as well as assisting the manager in other hospitality stuffs. it may sounds like a dull job but it’s more than just that. the atmosphere is lovely. the bar’s quite classy and unique. on a busy night it can accommodate about 40 to 50 ppl. working from 8pm till late, i’m constantly accompanied by great music and people as well.
i was also very fortunate to be able to meet new people. my wonderful manager, jose, is very friendly and cheerful. other staffs, justin, elyse, n carel are great as well. i feel happy to work with such a great team.
i also had the opportunity to learn some skills in making coffee and mixing cocktails. My first self-made coffees are flat white, latte, espresso and the yummy hot choc. had fun using the coffee machine eventho frothing the milk was quite tricky. my job also expands my understanding about running a bar. there’s a lot of things to do, i must say.
For me, the most important thing that i got from my job is satisafaction. it feels nice when ur appreciated. a simple phrase such as ‘thank you’ or ‘great job’ from the customers or ur employer really gives u the motivation to do your best. i may be wrong but there are some people may not like their their jobs for different reasons. However, i am very lucky to be some of the people who enjoy doing their job.

ahh.. finally the rock has returned to bintulu. feels so great to escape from all the stuffs in ipba, especially organizing the cohort 4 dinner. man, it was really challenging and exhausting. lots of things to prepare and handle. adrenaline, blood pressures pumping inside the body like steve vai’s guitar solo. (listen to his latest album, ’sound theories’.. it’s great!) and to those who will be organizing the next cohort dinner, here are a few vital tips:
- first thing first. create a great committee who can do a great job. ensure great cooperation is achieved among the committee members. buat perancangan awal. (terima kasih kepada komiti tahun ni. Well done!!)
- consult ur coordinator n make a proposal. make sure there’s a proof that u have been given the green light to do it. surat for dinner and surat for funding activities. make sure it’s approved by the director so that there will be no other party who is envy of us will not interfere with the program.
- Next, collect big, big bucks. start early. no money, no dinner. organize how to collect money among the 5 universities. suggested activities: jual paper, organize carnival (unfortunately x sempat buat ari tu), sell food, bla bla bla..
- plan the activities for the night. performance, emcees, ushers, time and stage management (very2 important).
- Invitation cards. disturb the lecturers and vips at least 1 month prior to the dinner. inform them well about the dinner e.g. time, theme, location.. (include map in the invitation). get confirmation asap.
- transportation. make early reservations for buses and coaster.
- punctuality. make sure everybody is right on time. prevent them from thinking that it’s their cinderella moment.
- have fun. enjoy the dinner. make sure everything’s smooth.

here i am, feeling demotivated, sitting in this lovely ‘crib’ in ipba trying to express my thoughts in words. haha.. i admit it’s very hard. that’s why my blogs are always short. my thoughts are vague, muted and dull. u will notice the way i haphazardly write this post shows how many things there are in my brain that’s trying to couldn’t be understood by people. maybe it’s because individuals construct their own unique knowledge. maybe it’s my inability to make people understand. i think i should blame myself for being such a crap. things would be easier if i’d changed. but i’m still the same old me. still nagging n complaining when i can do something more meaningful rite now. haha.. i think this is how smokers feel. smoking’s bad yet addictive. and this affects ppl around them. however, deep inside they wanna change. they know it’s bad. ex-smokers got rid of their habits not just in one day. some took years and decades. Nobody knows when, but the time will come. i hope i will still breathe when my time comes. hahaha.. in the mean time i’ll just try to be thankful and be happy about my life.

wow.. i’m shocked i’m doing this blog again.. aaahh.. the sounds of silence in this common room is as wonderful as listening to steve vai’s guitar solos.. been back from midval.. kl is such a wonderful place when there’s not much ppl staying here.. hahah.. i’m trying really hard to crap here.. ohk then.. let me tell u one of my high school experience. there was this First-aid competition in miri in 2003.. it was my second time. i was chosen to be the leader of this 6 ppl group to represent my school in the competition. i can still remember the non-stop foot drill practice in the evenings.. staying up late to memorize the CPR, heimlich, bla.. bla.. and so on.. (i forgot)
there’s this one incident that i can’t forget. it was the night b4 the competition begins. when i was trying my new tailored-white pants, i discovered something real bad. i couldn’t fit in it. hahahaha.. i was jumping here and there in my friends room.. it was just too ’sexy’. since there was nothing i can do, i had to wear it the next day.
the embarrassment wearing it was unbearable. foot drilling was never this difficult. it feels like ur being watched. walking here and there like a robot in tight pants is not a good way to show ur leadership qualities. my friends laughed at me.. i was mad at myself..
on the bright side, we won 2nd place overall and best first-aid team. we didn’t aim the first spot bcoz we don’t want to compete anymore. district level is enough. the icing on the cake was when i was rewarded the best overall leader throughout the competition. i couldn’t believe it. my frenz couldn’t believe it. my teacher couldn’t believe it. hahaha.. nonetheless, our teacher treated us pizza hut on that evening.
ok.. that’s it.. thinking that i’m doing this makes me sick..
p/s: did the pants made me win???? (@^^@)
